Register with Confidence. Sail with Trust.
Somalia Ship Register Limited administers vessel registration and related flag services under the sovereign authority of the Federal Republic of Somalia, through the Ministry of Ports and Marine Transport.
01 — The Register
The Somalia Ship Register operates within the legal framework of the Federal Republic of Somalia and in accordance with applicable international maritime conventions and IMO instruments.
SSRL provides the administrative and operational infrastructure of the Register, while sovereign authority, registry policy and the national register remain vested in the Federal Republic of Somalia through the Ministry of Ports and Marine Transport.
02 — Services that open a file
Choose the appropriate service for your vessel and select a Deputy Registrar. Your submission is an initial request, not the final statutory filing. Your selected Deputy Registrar will contact you by email and, once the documentation is complete, open the case in the registry system.
03 — Process
Select the service you need for vessel, yacht or seafarer matters and send your basic details. No wet signature, physical documents or account opening is required at this stage.
Your request is taken up at once and a tracking number is assigned. Correspondence with the Deputy Registrar and follow-up of the file use this reference.
The Deputy Registrar you selected contacts you by email. Official forms and documents are completed through that correspondence.
When the file is complete, the case is concluded in the registry. Papers issued by the Administration are sent to you.
04 — Position
Operations are conducted from İstanbul. The Administration sits with the Ministry in Mogadishu. Files move between those offices.
